Gary Moore
Tuesday 24 April 2001
Hi Guys & Girls
Long time no see.
I went along to see Gary Moore last Tuesday thinking I had moved on from that
particular style of music which I loved in the 80's but man, it didn't take Gary
long to convince me that he is to Blues guitar what Paganini was to the
violin. Amazing!!!
The sound was one of the best
I have ever heard at the Barrowland and you regulars will know how good that
can be. The band stayed pretty much in the background and let the
"maestro" do his stuff.
He did some "spicy" BB King, some "mellow" Eric Clapton,
some "wild" Jimi Hendrix and
of course some Thin Lizzy but his own "Still got the Blues for you" was
the highlight of the
evening and probably drew the odd tear from the audience.
There's some who say that soul is the music of "lurve" but I'd like to suggest
that it is only the Blues that can put a sexy sway into peoples hips and take them
from foreplay to climax again and again. ;-)
Gary should change his name to
"More" and hurry back and not let us wait another 10 years!
Even Gary didn't make the Channel 4 list he'll forever
be in my Top 10 Guitarists of all time!
