Gomez Live Review: by

Gomez. That alone got me excited. Glasgow Barrowlands. A great venue, no doubt
about it. And what a combination.
Flanked by two screens, showing sometimes bizarre images ( the JCB's during Love
Is Better Than A Warm Trombone ), and acting as a perfect visual complement to
the sounds (the ride through the mines and over the hills for Here Comes The
Breeze ), they easily matched their show at T In The Park. Opening with Get
Miles the played inspired and uplifting versions of Whippin' Piccadilly,
Arrested, Las Vegas Dealer ( with comedy clapping to get the crowd going further
), Hangover, Devil Will Ride, in fact almost everything you could want bar
Revolutionary Kind and Bring It On. I've heard Bring It On live before and it
was well received and played so why it was omitted is a mystery to Me.
I can't get over how good Here Comes The Breeze was, with the added guitar
explosion in the middle and chanted lyrics.
And the bombastic Whippin' has etched a permanent smile on my face.
I can't believe it ever gets better than this.
Well maybe the Sunday was !
Cannae wait for the next tour.
